Eclypsis was first formed in early january of 2005 by Guillaume Leduc-Lévesque and Anne Gauvin-Meunier, both wanting to form a group. After an exhaustive search for other musicians, Guillaume recruited Sam Lemieux-Cadieux from his other band. The trio became a quintet at the end of june with the addition of the bassist Mia Zbikowski and guitarist Nader Zeid. From thereon the band officially began in july 2005.

Quote: "And I believed I would gather you to me and hold you. And time would open to us, and we would be the teachers of one another. All the things that gave you happiness would give me happiness; and I would be the protector of your pain. My power would be your power. My strength the same. But you're dead inside to me, you're cold and beyond my reach! It is as if I'm not here, beside you. And, not being here with you, I have the dreadful feeling that I don't exist at all."
-Anne Rice, Interview with the Vampire

Favorite bands : Dream Theater, Deftones, Tool, Mudvayne, Nothingface and more.

May 15th: So much has been happening...

We have been extremely busy the past few weeks all in preparation of this past weekend's performance at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. It was an honor to play in such a prominent venue, and we are now working on putting together all the media we gathered over the course of the event.

Also, we announce the departure of guitarist Nader Zeid. This is an amicable agreement and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours. Eclypsis will now be joined by Mark-Anthony Horobec as rythm guitar and Jose Aguirre as lead guitar. We are confident that with this new partnership our music will reach new heights to please your ears and hearts.

April 11th: Some new stuff!

Want to see the faces behind the music? Go look at our new portraits in the Gallery's Recent Photo section! Our demo is still in the mixing stage, but you can go listen to the alpha version of "By Your Side" on our My Space page here: www.myspace.com/eclypsismusic

February 25th: The Eclypsis Demo is on its way!

A big chunk of late January and February was spent in the studio recording the demo. Finally, we got our first 3 tracks done, and they're now in the final mixing stage. We expect the final product to be ready within a week or so.

Also, some photos of the Café Chaos show have been uploaded to the gallery. Check 'em out!

December 27th: The Café Chaos show is deemed a success!

We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts all those who came to cheer us on at the December 23rd Café Chaos show. We greatly appreciate your support, which fuels us with even more passion to create, and we hope to have the chance to entertain you once more in the near future.
